In September I was proud of myself for snatching up miniature pumpkins,
just as soon as I could find them at the grocery store,
which lead to hanging garlands in the kitchen window...
Then a few weeks ago we picked up regular pumpkins for the front porch.
However today... I'm realizing that tomorrow is Halloween
and, it's looking like the pumpkins are not getting carved. Again. this year.
We didn't carve them last year either.
We don't get many kids on our quiet street,
aside from a couple of neighbors...
and we've pretty much eaten all the candy
aside from the few pieces I've hidden from my husband
in case someone does stop by.
I suppose it's not a bad thing to have pumpkins on your porch through Thanksgiving.
At least if we don't carve them, they'll stay fresh for that long.
I really did pick out my pumpkin for it's sweet curly Q's anyways.
I kind of miss living on a street with lots of kids on Halloween,
but I'm enjoying the simplicity of our quiet street a little bit too.
Hope your Halloween is Safe & Fun.
Don't eat too much candy!

I love your garlands! I fear no trick-or-treaters this year due to the deluge outside. Oh well, more candy for me?
I think it's perfectly okay NOT to carve those pumpkins. They will last until Thanksgiving that way. I haven't had a steady flow of trick or treaters since I flew the coop and went to college. I'm so sad to think that maybe kids just don't do that anymore due to safety issues. I do hope that's not the case. I still buy candy anyways for the few that do drop by. And then the rest for me :)
We don't have many trick or treaters either but we'll get candy just in case. My hubby doesn't mind if he has to eat the extras!
I like pumpkins when they are not carved, and it will be nice to have them out until Thanksgiving. I hope you had a Happy Halloween!

I did a lot of Halloween decorating and did not carve our pumpkins either. I agree with others that it will be nice to keep them out a little longer this way.
