It's still August, but it feels like fall today.
There is a warm breeze in the air, but you can see the leaves beginning to fall and change color.
And the dahlias are busy blooming babies...
I admit, I didn't do much tending to my porch garden this year.
I grew cherry tomatoes, but other than that, I just didn't really get into it, I guess...
I think I have decided that I am just not much for vegetable gardening.
I did find a couple of new pots to add to the collection though.
The white one was from the Dollar store, and the other
a shabby terracotta planter I picked up at a thrift shop for $4.
I'm loving the color these little hens & chicks have taken in this pot.
It might be because I killed them though. I'm not sure.
They got a little out of hand and I ripped half of them out.
sorry hens. make more chicks.

And, we have a new member.
Earlier this summer we had a little birthday gathering here for a friend,
and I picked up these pink flamingo stir sticks for margaritas.
I thought they were so darned cute, I just had to find a fun place to stick one.

Summer has been busy, but well. Hope yours has been wonderful too.

I like your new pots, Janell, and those sweet little hens and chickens. I gave up vegetable gardening years ago, though Michael puts some in still, like tomatoes and peppers. We get so many voles, moles, bunnies, deer and woodchucks, though...and if slugs or beetles hit, well, it's more than discouraging. I like pots with flowers! Summer is certainly ending, though it was blazing, crazy hot here this weekend. Monday is my very last day of summer vacation. This is it. Sigh.
Yep! Herbs and flowers, I think that's what I'll stick with next year. So much easier, and so much prettier too! :)
