Accepting change...

Something tells me that Marley might still come home... but I'm trying not to set myself up for the fact that he might not. It's been 5 days since I've seen him, and he's just nowhere to be found. I've always considered him to be a pretty street smart cat, and he's also always friendly with the other neighborhood kitties, so perhaps he's just found new friends and wandered off for a while.

That said, we've left food out, checked everywhere we can think of, gone to the humane society, talked to all the neighbors... you know, the usual things. I've done enough crying and worrying lately to make myself crazy, so last night I took a big deep breath and have decided to just let go and try to start living again. I've hugged my dogs more, even let them up on the bed (harhar), but something just tells me deep down inside that he might still be out there somewhere. Don't ask me why, but I can just feel it.

It's unfair to have expectations though, so for now, I'm just trying to accept change, and let time take it's course. Perhaps some day I'll be telling you about a new kitty in our family, or perhaps, Marley will return. Until then, please keep him in your thoughts... he would have been 4 next month. I'm just not sure I'm ready to accept that he's gone, but I'm trying.

Peace be with you little man. I love you.

Cats are known to wander off for a week or so at a time. They also sometimes find a second family to hang out with...that family having no idea he had a first family and just take him in to take care of him....no doubt due to his charming personality. Don't give up hope. If you gut is telling you he is out there, he may well be. They tend to loose track of time when doing a walk -a - bout. Keep doing what you are doing and take your own advice and move on with life. I was always told that you find something when you stop looking for it. So many times that was true.

I have two kitties myself, and in the past I have had this happen too. So I know how you are feeling. Just stay busy as you can. It's the not knowing that is so hard. You will get an answer soon, I hope.

Meanwhile, get back to making soap....I'll need more soon. And jewelery...I never run out of space for that! :)

I hope you feel better soon.
Best wishes and thoughts to you and your family.

Oh, Marley is so cute. I really hope he comes back. But as Malicious said, it is the way of cats to sometimes wander off...

Oh J, that's tough. Here's hoping he comes home soon.

I had a cat who lived rather like a gypsy.. she'd disapear for weeks and come back. When we moved she'd run away, and always found her way home. She lived to be 21 years old! You never know, he really could be just out on an adventure!
